Cyclefit Fondo update
Food Glorious Food
The best thing about riding a sportive is that you can eat what you want all day and it will all get burnt off. We have some great culinary treats lined up for you throughout the day. The National Trust cafe will be open from 7.30am serving tea, coffee and bacon rolls. Power the machine.com will be selling all the best sports nutrition from High 5, GU, Torq and For Goodness Shakes so you can stock up before you set off.
There is a lovely forest cafe in Wendover Woods about 33km into the ride for an early break. Then London's hip cycle cafe Look Mum No Hands) will be hosting the gourmet feed stations ( 57km and 108km ) and will be serving up a feast including fresh coffee, fresh smoothies, home made flapjack and ham & cheese baguettes !
On your return locally sourced steak and chips will be available on the Barbecue (please buy your voucher before you set off to avoid disappointment as we expect to sell out).
On the Day
Please come as early as you like and registration will be open from 7.15am with riders allowed to go from 7.30am until 10.00am (if you are a little late don't worry!). You can register on the day for £30 (cash only) but we would really prefer it if you booked online by midnight tonight (Friday 17th June). Both rides are challenging with some great climbs so be prepared for a good day in (and out) the saddle. The weather looks good, dry with light westerly winds and a high of 21 degrees.
Bring the Family
Its a great spot for the family to hang out in with lovely walks along the ridge line and into the valley, kite flying, a great National Trust cafe and shop and Whipsnade Zoo is just 2 minutes drive away.
Entries available on the day and online until midnight tonight.
