Cyclefit Tour of the Marsh

This weekend we re-visit Romney Marsh for our second and final sportive of 2011.
This morning I checked out part of the course to make sure it was still their and to my delight everything remains intact. The quiet twisting roads and big skys of the marsh and the steep and gnarly climbs of the North Downs.
Look out for Barrack Hill after the descent down in to Hythe make sure you change down in to the small ring before you start the ascent and Danton Lane after the village of Peene might make your eyes water.
Be aware on the steep descents here, keep your weight back and concentrate the road surface can be very loose in places.
The weather forecast looks….promising….hopefully we'll see you there.
If you get the chance on Sunday stop and listen to the silence, that is unless the wind picks up!

The only hiccup was that I could not unclip my shoes from my Speedplay pedals; they had filled with hardened clay from the fields I had walked in while taking the pics. I had to dismount triathlon style when I got back to base.
