The Cyclefit UK Philosophy
Jules and Phil almost never tell the story when they drove many years ago to a remote chateau near Limoges to do a secret bike fitting on a famous retired Tour rider. The designated time and venue for the fitting, for one reason or another, was a dark garden studio with no electricity at dusk. Accordingly they had to complete a high pressure fit by candle-light with only very basic tools. But what they did have was vast experience, almost limitless time and most importantly each other.
This powerful experience underpins the Cyclefit UK philosophy.
Cyclefit devotes more space and resources to bike fitting than any other shop in Europe because we know how important bike fitting is to the enjoyment of your sport and in building the perfect custom bicycle.
Skill and Experience…
Cyclefit UK's bike fitting technicians have been involved in the cycle industry for many years and have been fitting since 2001. Their bike fitting experience and bike knowledge is second to none in the UK and they work with a network of medical practitioners to ensure every rider can get the help they need to achieve their goals.
Cyclefit's Directors are SICI (Serotta International Cycling Institute) and Trek Fit Servces instructors, they have also contributed to Trek's course manual.
No Magic Tools
Common sense tells us that there is no tool in the world that you can simply take out of the box that will replace the sound judgement of a well-trained individual? If there was we would buy it. We do use the most sophisticated equipment in the world but it is always secondary to the skill and experience of the technician.
Computrainer
Wired into the Sizecycle is RacerMate's Computrainer. the Computrainer provides the variable resistance and most importantly the Spinscan.
The Spinscan shows the technician when and where the power is applied during the pedal stroke and which leg is doing the most work.
We aim to get two even valleys and hills at the end of a session.
Dartfish Motion Analysis
Dartfish's sophisticated software records a rider's every movement and can measure leg extension and track key points of movement. Before during and after the analysis is recorded.
A very important aspect for the customer is the ability to view their posture and pedalling dynamics.
The Sizecycle
Ben Serotta's new Sizecycle is the ultimate bike fitting tool.
Millimetre accurate adjustments can be made while the rider is pedalling. No on and off and stop start. Smooth fast, accurate, repeatable and recordable adjustments.
The Sizecycle allows the Cyclefit technican to adjust a rider's position without compromising to a frame's limitations. Many bike fitters do fits on the customer's bike but if the bike is the wrong shape or size they may never achieve the correct position and may need to compromise in either the saddle or handlebar position.
At Cyclefit we do not compromise.

Cyclefit Academy and ICS
Cyclefit stands for the skill, judgement, training and experience of the technician. Every Cyclefit technician at every Cyclefit Partner location (Pearson and Cycle-Ops included) are trained twenty times longer than the industry norm and every one is personally trained by Jules and Phil. And every Cyclefit technician and partner always has access to at least one other opinion. Peer review and a collegiate atmosphere are crucial to maintain quality and standards.
Cyclefit runs courses in the UK and Europe for SICI and Trek. As well as hosting the annual ICS - a conference to bring together the academic, medical and fitting communities.
