Emma Trott - Cyclefit with Jules & Phil 1

Emma Trott
Emma first came to us in January 2011 when she was riding for Nederland Bloeit team. The changes to Emma's position that we could effect at that time were limited by all kinds of factors and influences that were beyond our's and Emma's control.
So we tinkered at the edges and made our finest Cyclefit custom footbeds for Emma and stayed in touch. What was very apparent was that Emma was responsive to the potential for change and fitted very well into the Cyclefit collegiate, method-in-our-madness environment. We liked her immediately.

After a difficult year with injury we were able to reprise the Cyclefit method on 3rd February of this year. We cleared the diary and both Jules and Phil headed into Studio One armed a pot of strong coffee and a desire to get it absolutely right. However long it took.
We started with a new pair of Bont Vapour shoes and a new pair of pro-stiff Cyclefit custom footbeds. On the jig we were seeing the left knee was adducted (facing in) and Emma was falling off to the left-side and pulling up with the right-side. Here is what we did:
- Added a 3mm stack to the left-side
- Added 2 x varus external wedges to left-side
- Changed crank to 170mm
- Narrowed bar to 38cm
- Changed saddle from SLR to Fizik Antares
- Coached pedalling on not pulling up on right-side. To take pressure off the hip-flexor and even up stroke
