The gold-standard of custom carbon the world-over. In addition to being the most sophisticated and probably most expensive frame, the Serotta MeiVici SE is also the only fully tailored, rider-specific and tuned racing fuselage available. Construction Philosophy Serotta knows more about high performance carbon because they now own the virtual brain-trust of USA composite research in Poway CA (formerly known as MQC). Ben Serotta explained in his March ‘07 lecture in London the philosophy of using carbon lugs and tubes to keep quality high by keeping individual components small. This is a much more expensive way of constructing than for example monococq lay-ups but does preserve strength and quality unattainable with inferior methods. As an aside this is virtually the same construction approach chosen by Colnago for the same reasons. The Platform The MeiVici SE features Serotta's topline TC5, TorsionCore™ Colorado Concept carbon fibre tubes and lugs. Every custom SE frame can choose between a bewildering 100 strength-v's-lightness-v's stiffness tubing options, custom selected for each frame. Every lug is precisely hand machined and aligned for each individual's frame draft and design. No two frames ever use the same tubing specifications because no two riders are the same.
