Shimano make shoes for road, tri and MTB riding and have developed a mouldable upper on their top end shoes to improve fit and comfort. At Cyclefit we begin the shoe fit by measuring your feet and then let you try from our range of shoes to get the best fit you can. The top Shimano road shoes are available in 2 width fittings. Once we have established the right size we make a custom Sidas footbed which is inserted into the shoe before we mould the upper around your foot. MAVIC
A Mavic shoe combines the supple uppers of Sidi with the low profile lightweight carbon sole of Rocket 7. The sole is a little more compliant than the Shimano shoe and for lighter riders with more flexible feet they offer an alternative to Shimano and Specialized. Although Mavic have been making shoes for two years their parent company also has Salomon and Adidas in its portfolio and has used their expertise to develop the Mavic shoe range. LAKE
In our opinion the Lake CX401 is the best cycling shoe on the market. The mouldable carbon heel cup stabilises the foot in the shoe for improved pedalling and knee tracking. The Boa closure gives the shoe a very adjustable and snug fit. The upper is made from kangaroo skin - very soft and supple - and the carbon sole has a padded layer to help eliminate hot spots. Available in half sizes and two widths and in a Speedplay option.
