No. 22 strives to create forward-thinking, feature rich titanium frames tempered by a legacy of experience.
No. 22 Bicycle's frames are made entirely in-house in their Johnstown, NY production facility. Their small team of craftsmen have over 50 years of titanium framebuilding experience between them, which comes through in every frame we build.
Unlike many builders, they do not charge extra for features that should be included from the start. From decal-free finishes, to butted, size-specific tubesets, to thru axles and oversized head tubes, every No. 22 is made to be the best bike possible for its intended purpose. Better performance should never be an extra-cost option.
Size Specific Fully Butted Tubing
The average weight of a rider on a 50cm frame is vastly different from the average weight of a 60cm frame. Despite this, many manufacturers use the same stiffness target across all frame sizes of a given model. At No. 22 we tailor tube diameters, wall thickness and butting for every individual frame size. The result: smaller sizes are lighter and have a smoother ride quality, while larger sizes are stiff enough for larger riders.
Internal Brake Hose Routing
Cutting a hole in a tube to pass a cable through is easy, but doing it in a durable and user friendly way is not. No. 22's models with internal rear brake routing use a titanium guide tube welded into a hand mitred hole. The guide tube reinforces the tube, maintaining the strength lost from the cable hole, while making running cables through the frame easier.
Internal brake hose routing is standard on every No. 22 with disc brakes.
Decal Free Graphics
Where most builders charge extra for titanium finishes beyond the basic "brushed and stickered" look, No. 22 blast, brush and polish all their intricate graphics on to each frame. The standard "Raw" finish mixes polished and blasted surfaces to show off titanium's natural lustre.
In a process unique to titanium, the optional anodized finishes are created without the use of dyes or acids. Instead, an electric current is run through the surface of the material to manipulate how light is refracted. The result is a stunning surface treatment that showcases the frame's intricate graphic designs.
The relationship between the wheels, chainstays and dropouts of a frame are among the most important factors determining a bike’s ride quality, with dropouts playing a key role. Every No. 22 uses a bespoke dropout of their own design. From the Reactor’s unique double-hood that accepts massively oversized chainstays and svelte seatstays, to the disc models’ thru axle dropouts designed to align perfectly with flat-mount calipers and X-12 thru axles, the dropouts on No. 22's frames are a perfect example of their sweat-the-details frame building method.
No. 22 Forks
One of the biggest challenges facing many frame builders is fork options: different frame sizes require varying fork offsets, but most aftermarket forks are only available in one. Rather than compromise the handling of the largest and smallest frames, No. 22 have their own lineup of full-carbon forks that are made in different rakes to suit their full range of frame sizes. The result is better handling and reduced toe overlap across all sizes, as well as thru axles, internal hydraulic hose routing and generous tire clearance.
On complete builds, No. 22's attention to detail doesn't end with the frame. The builds include their titanium seatpost, finished to match the raw or anodized finish of your frame. Up front, their full carbon forks and aluminium stems are painted in one of three colour options with subtle graphics touches for each model. All included at no extra charge with the Ready-Made builds.
We have featured three of our most popular frames below, the Great Divide Disc for road rides, the The Drifter for all-road and gravel riding and the Drifter X No.22's hardcore gravel racer. To view the rest of No.22's range please visit their website via the link below.
All the prices on No.22's website are in US Dollars net. Shipping, Duty and VAT are added when the frames are imported in to the UK. Cyclefit does not add any extra costs when you order through us.
"A very thorough, professional and personal service. I was keen to analyse my bike position after breaking my hip. The custom footbeds and alterations to my position feel really good, just wish I’d come sooner! Many thanks"

"A highly personalized and very friendly service, giving good advice and adjustments that are helpful whatever level of cyclist you are."
"Thanks very much Phil.
Did an 80 mile sportive yesterday on the road bike - perfect set up thanks; I've never been so comfortable, and no after effects!
"Rode my standard Box Hill loop this morning with the temp shims and more thought to position.
Felt more connected and compact on the bike.
Fastest ride of the year, picked up close to a km/per hour despite crappy wet pot holed roads, a ton of traffic and a couple of nights out Thu/Fri."

"The personal service from both Phil and Julian is second to none. They have such a wealth of experience in fitting that they can almost tell at a glance if something is just a little off. It felt as though it didn't matter how long it took to get the best position possible - even for an amateur cyclist like myself. Can't recommend them enough."
