BBC film-maker, Peter, is a big fan of due reflection & process...

...and if that fails, a pep-talk can still bring someone home

"I believe I could have got further if I knew half of what I know now when I was in my early 20’s"

Peter Georgi - The Quiet Legend

Peter did almost make it. He was a hugely talented junior road and track rider. But like many of his generation, failed in his ambition to become an international professional athlete. Not because of a lack of talent, but like so many before, Peter stumbled because of a vacuum of information and science, which was all too easily back-filled with opinion and tradition. Like many racers before and since Peter 'doubled-down' on training. Which almost never works.

The Georgi Racing Dynasty

Second-time around, Peter was now aiming for masters racing success, and Cyclefit was to become a regular fixture as he picked up seven national championships and one European national championship. As the Georgi children, Etienne and Pfeiffer, started to find their racing feet, Peter quietly resolved that they should succeed on their talents without foundering because of a knowledge gap.
Etienne (Peter's son and ex Team Wiggins), was a National Junior Series winner and Pfeiffer Georgi (Peter's daughter), is currently ranked 11th in the world and seems to win almost by accident for her DSM-Fermenich Team

Riding Tour de France Guide - Peter Georgi

As well as making documentaries (BBC's Walking with Caveman), Peter coaches clients, but also guides amateur cyclists who want to ride Le Tour route, in real time, one week ahead of the event for Tour 21 (Cure Leukaemia).

Peter is the perfect person to help us consider the proposition as to whether we could or indeed should ride Le Tour. Not only has he coached amateur and professional riders he has coaxed them over every col! Here are some of the topics we may cover:

  • Training to ride Le Tour route
  • Nutrition
  • Psychology
  • Bike-handling skills
  • Equipment and clothing
  • Dealing with the unexpected!

What our clients say

  • "Hey Julian and Phil, I hope you are both well. I just completed a 21 hour week on my new 165mm cranks and I am in love. They feel so so great! Thank you for all your help. I’ve never felt so comfortable on my bike before. All the best, Hannah"

    Hannah Barnes

National Champion / Professional Bike Rider

  • "Very very personalised service. You arrive, they expect you, greet you by first name, have checked your file from past visits and set out very clearly what the process will be, what issues they're looking to address and how and they are happy to take the time to walk you through everything in layman's terms. Almost any professional service entity could learn a lot from how Cyclefit works. "

    Peter G.

    Recreational rider

  • "Rode my standard Box Hill loop this morning with the temp shims and more thought to position. Felt more connected and compact on the bike. Fastest ride of the year, picked up close to a km/per hour despite crappy wet pot holed roads, a ton of traffic and a couple of nights out Thu/Fri."

    Matt H

    Seven Evergreen SL

  • "A highly personalized and very friendly service, giving good advice and adjustments that are helpful whatever level of cyclist you are."

    MJ

    Cyclist

  • "I have been able to ride every day since the fit. So far I have had no pain which feels like a miracle!"
