Axiom And The Argonaut

Seven Axiom and The Argonaut Supernaut. Made by Wizards. Using Magic.

"The culmination of everything we’ve ever learned"

Ben Farver. And, Rob Vandermark

Seven Axiom XX and Argonaut Supernaut.

There are no volume producers of custom bicycle frames in the world. None. The very idea confounds and confuses. Artisan custom from Seven in Boston and Argonaut from Bend, Oregon, rely upon a life's work, iterative obsessiveness, from small groups of craftsfolk, isolated from the real world. They exist in a creative bubble far away from spreadsheets and HR departments.

Rob Vandermark from Seven and Ben Farver from Argonaut are a generation below the godfathers like Ben Serotta, Dario Pegoretti and Bob Parlee. But they have inherited the flame, the spirit and the madness. Like Serotta, Pegoretti and Parlee - they are signed onto the concept of lifelong learning and tiny victories measured in microns.

Argonaut - Carbon-Based Masters

The Argonaut Supernaut RM is quite possibly the finest custom carbon bicycle frame currently available. Made by a team at the peak of their skills.

In-House Magic

Engineering and fabrication all under one roof - every carbon lay-up process, even the CNC'ing of all metal parts. Every frame is individually hand-crafted and will take at least thirty-two hours. Argonaut Founder, Ben Farver, describes the RM3 as:

"This is the bike that we want you ride. Every. Single. Day - performance-centred build, focused on ride quality, speed, and experience."

We particularly love this ethic at Cyclefit. Why should best just be for best? Have something conceived for you that is of such incredible quality that you can have the experience every day, every ride. Absolutely right. It's like waiting for that special moment for a bottle of wine that never gets drunk. Drink it everyday.

Axio1

Seven Axiom XX - Copperhead Special Edition

The triple-butted Axiom XX is the lightest disc-brake titanium frame ever made. They are quite simply confusingly lacking in gravitational mass. The last Supernaut that we built was 6.5kg - the Axiom will add about 4-500 grams to that. Incredible for a metal bicycle.
The Axiom XX speaks to the epicentre of Rob Vandermark's personal dynamic. His creative, engineering genius, that steered Merlin in the 1980's. And his innate caution. The tension must be unbearable. Rob has the flair to envision but an innate carefulness to hold back.

We first featured the Seven Copperhead in December. Unfortunately supply of Enve parts became an issue. The Copperhead is just an example of what you can do when you elect to turn left down the full-custom route with Seven and Cyclefit.

"Rob's innate tension must be unbearable. He has the flair to envision and the innate carefulness to hold back."

Materially Different Custom at Cyclefit

Both the Supernaut RM3 and Axiom XX are the best in class within their own material sectors. Both specialists on their own coastlines. Both are also handmade and expensive frames. Only Cyclefit has the experience in Europe to curate such an important project. Here is the process.

  • Step 1. Cyclefit Session. Twenty-five years of experience. Pioneers and world-leaders in bike-fitting. Trusted to work at World Tour level.
  • Step 2. Frame design and discussion - in-house at Cyclefit. We have designed more custom frames than any other company in Europe.
  • Step 3. Bike Design and Component selection. With us at Cyclefit. We help define, perfect and reach the goal of your perfect bicycle.
  • Step 4. Order and design is sent to Seven or Argonaut.
  • Step 5. Your frame arrives at Cyclefit. Your bicycle is assembled by Barna. You are then invited to Cyclefit for a final fit and adjustment. It's New Bike Day!

Almost any professional service entity could learn a lot from how Cyclefit works. "

  • "The personal service from both Phil and Julian is second to none. They have such a wealth of experience in fitting that they can almost tell at a glance if something is just a little off. It felt as though it didn't matter how long it took to get the best position possible - even for an amateur cyclist like myself. Can't recommend them enough."
