Science and Magic

"Mass-produced by Five"

Firefly Bicycles - Handmade in Massachusetts

Do not berate yourself if this is the first time you have heard of Firefly. We get the impression that they quite like it that way. Not because they are unfriendly (they are the opposite) but because there are only four (actually normally five - Paul is soon to return from paternity leave) of them and they have to work exceptionally hard to build around one hundred totally customised bikes a year. Speaking of a year, that is how long it sometimes (not always) takes to build your bike after the order has been curated and placed.
A glorious year of imagining and barely concealed excitement. It is an essential part of the Firefly process.

History in Numbers

Firefly don't do models names or stock sizes. Beyond the general bike category, every little detail is custom, and every project is numbered, photographed and placed prominently in The Firefly Gallery - a place in history. Firefly owners proudly refer to themselves via their allotted number. Firefly are the living antonym of corporate and mass-produced. Or more accurately - mass-produced by five.

Firefly and Cyclefit

We have been working with Firefly for many years now. They kindly make the beautiful seat-posts and seat-clamps, that we prefer to include on all of our custom Seven builds, like this Axiom XX

And now we are proud to be invited to be only their second retail partner in the world.

What our clients say

  • "The personal service from both Phil and Julian is second to none. They have such a wealth of experience in fitting that they can almost tell at a glance if something is just a little off. It felt as though it didn't matter how long it took to get the best position possible - even for an amateur cyclist like myself. Can't recommend them enough."

    Susan

    Cyclist

  • "I'm new to cycling so needed some support on finding a bike that would be right for me. Julian couldn't have been kinder or more supportive, he took time to find out what I wanted from my cycling and then looked closely at my physical structure to ensure that the bike is a comfortable fit for me. It really is a 5 star service and far exceeded my expectations."

    RM

    New Cyclist

  • "I have been able to ride every day since the fit. So far I have had no pain which feels like a miracle!"

    Neilson Powless

Professional Cyclist - Education First - Easypost

  • "Honestly these are great (custom orthotics). My feet feel totally balanced and stable and I‘m not searching for the pedal when I want to push it. They’ve made a massive difference.”"

    Tom Pidcock

    Olympic MTB Gold Medallist

  • "Very very personalised service. You arrive, they expect you, greet you by first name, have checked your file from past visits and set out very clearly what the process will be, what issues they're looking to address and how and they are happy to take the time to walk you through everything in layman's terms. Almost any professional service entity could learn a lot from how Cyclefit works. "
