Colnago Y1Rs
Colnago had a long history making bikes suitable for professional riders to win races upon, that we could also ride if we so wished. But a C40 or C50 is a very different species to Colnago's front-line peloton bike, Y1RS. Tadej must have bleeped over race-radio that more aero was needed for next season. And Y1R1s was born.
The aero credentials are worn as badges of pride - "20 watts saved at 50kmh" - to clarify that is 20 watts saved over Colnago's V4Rs.
Every damn thing is subordinate to two things:
- Making Y1Rs UCI compliant and thus able to race on the world stage.
- Giving the world's best rider, the world's fastest bike.
Colnago are not hiding or fluffing this - the Y1Rs is: Built to Defy Wind. If this is not you then you would be better placed to look elsewhere - C72 for example.

YR1s and You...
For most people, most of the time, who maybe struggle to reach 50kmh, never mind maintain for any duration. The Colnago C72 is a superior bike - more comfortable, kinder geometry, bigger tyre-clearances etc. But that is to entirely miss the point of course. The lure of the pro-peloton is strong and speed is addictive, If you have the legs, then YR1s is calling you.
