Enve MOG - Luxury Gravel

Enve has causally re-shaped the gravel sector that Open Cycles arguably authored nine years ago, in their own image - namely Luxury Gravel.

Following on the heels of the silent-storm success of the Enve Melee at the end of last year, the MOG brings together everything that Enve has learnt from the hard lessons about carbon over decades and now point their knowledge off-piste.

The MOG checks all the boxes for what a modern gravel bike should be. Versatility through design with an abundance of tyre clearance, fitting up to a 700c x 50 mm tyres, in addition to in-frame storage with the Cargo Bay’s use of the downtube’s open space. Rack mounts on the fork provide additional options for the weekend bikepacking getaway while not hindering the MOG’s performance in any way.

Like the Melee road bike, the MOG is available as a “Chassis Only” which includes the frame, fork, headset, handlebar, stem, and seatpost. The handlebar, stem and seatpost are selected à la carte to ensure that you get the exact fit spec you need from the start.

The MOG can be built with four handlebar options that include the Gravel Bar, SES AR Bar, Compact Road Bar, and SES Aero Bar. Additionally, the choice of a dropper seatpost or fixed seatpost ensures you build the MOG best suited to your riding needs. Select your choice of ENVE wheels and drivetrain components for the complete build through your local ENVE Ride Center or retail partner.

Building your Melee

Our experts can help you select the correctly sized frame and components and advise you on the most suitable components for your style of riding.

You can order the MOG frameset from our online store and we can advise and provide the correctly sized components.
If you would like more info please contact us , our Enve demo bikes are on display at our Fire Station branch.

The Enve cockpit

The MOG frame chassis is supplied with Enve's in-route stem, handlebars and seatpost. Our most population choices are the Enve Gravel bar and the SES AR bar; both have 'flared' drops for stable hand positions; the gravel bar has 12cm of flare, the SES AR bar a little less flare and a flat top.

Enve wheels

There are several Enve wheel options; the Foundation AG25 (700c) and the AG28 (650B) are Enve's entry level wheels (a bit cheeky at £1,800.00) . The MOG is optimised for the larger diameter 700c wheels so we would steer you towards these. Enve's gravel wheels have a different profile to their road cousins and a wider internal rim width (25mm) which allows for better seating of the wider gravel tyres.

Their top end gravel wheels are the G23 and the G28, the latter is 650B so we can ignore that. The G23 is available with an Enve or a Chris King hub; we have fitted these to several gravel bikes and aprt from the lightness the customer is amazed by how smooth they make the ride.

If you plan to ride mixed terrain or are looking for a faster riding bike, many US racers are now running the SES road wheels in the 3.4 or 4.5 combinations. The numbers refer to the depth of the rims so 30mm and 40mm for instance. The internal width is still a wide 25mm so wider tyres can still be fitted.

Groupset, saddle and tyres and accessories.

The Melee is compatible with all disc brake groupsets except 2x mechanical gear systems. We can advise you on the best groupset to suit your riding and your budget; a complete Enve MOG with AG25 wheels and a SRAM Force AXS groupset would be in the region of £9,600.00.

What our clients say

  • "I'm new to cycling so needed some support on finding a bike that would be right for me. Julian couldn't have been kinder or more supportive, he took time to find out what I wanted from my cycling and then looked closely at my physical structure to ensure that the bike is a comfortable fit for me. It really is a 5 star service and far exceeded my expectations."

    RM

    New Cyclist

  • "Very very personalised service. You arrive, they expect you, greet you by first name, have checked your file from past visits and set out very clearly what the process will be, what issues they're looking to address and how and they are happy to take the time to walk you through everything in layman's terms. Almost any professional service entity could learn a lot from how Cyclefit works. "

    Peter G.

    Recreational rider

  • "Rode my standard Box Hill loop this morning with the temp shims and more thought to position. Felt more connected and compact on the bike. Fastest ride of the year, picked up close to a km/per hour despite crappy wet pot holed roads, a ton of traffic and a couple of nights out Thu/Fri."

    Matt H

    Seven Evergreen SL

  • "A very thorough, professional and personal service. I was keen to analyse my bike position after breaking my hip. The custom footbeds and alterations to my position feel really good, just wish I’d come sooner! Many thanks"

    TD

    Endurance MTB rider

  • "I tried the shorter cranks today and I like them - it feels like it's less stress for the back and it seems easier to ride higher cadence. In the end I had a good Tour with no back problems. Thanks for your help!"
